Cory Jones is an environmental practitioner, outdoor educator and social-enterprise director with over 30 years’ experience working across conservation, education, community development and sustainable tourism.
He has held senior leadership roles with organisations including the Field Studies Council, Sheffield Wildlife Trust and the Lake District National Park Authority, where he led biodiversity programmes, education services and large multi-stakeholder projects. Cory has extensive experience of charity governance, having served on national and local boards.
Alongside his governance work, Cory is a co-founder and director of several purpose-led enterprises operating in the environmental and outdoor sectors, with a strong focus on social impact, climate responsibility and community resilience. His work spans the Scottish Highlands and internationally, combining practical field experience with strategic oversight, partnership development and funding delivery.
Cory brings to the Trust a strong understanding of land use, biodiversity, rural communities and the challenges facing fragile environments, alongside a commitment to evidence-based decision-making and inclusive, community-led approaches to conservation.
