Mull & Iona Community Trust were awarded funding to promote information about environmental and sustainability issues and how they relate to the remote and rural locations of Mull and Iona on a new website.

The aim was to inform residents of how they as individuals, families and businesses could make a difference to the climate and biodiversity emergencies.

The resulting website links together the different activities of MESS and signposts information on best practice and other sites with useful information and ideas. For visitors and those residents not connected to the internet, the information was also provided in a leaflet which is made available through various outlets throughout the island.

Although hampered by Covid-19 restrictions, outcomes included:

• An increase in traffic to the website and social media channels and increased awareness of environmental issues.
• 3000 leaflets published and distributed to islanders and visitors.
• Increased recycling and tonnage diversion
