For a Fairer & More Sustainable World.

Green Hive Community Hub

Green Hive were awarded funding to carry out a feasibility study – Phase 1 of their ultimate aim to establish a permanent hub in the community based around an income-generating upcycling business, complementing their activities in community food growing and waste reduction. Funded jointly by The Pebble Trust and Highland Council, Green Hive aimed to have robust development and business plans for the community hub by the end of phase 1.

Successful outcomes included:

  • Wide engagement with community, partners and stakeholders to establish options for collaboration and partnership in the development of the community hub business plan
  • A 10 year strategic growth plan in place for the community hub to set up and run as a social enterprise
  • Research carried out on potential funders for building renovations and social enterprise development.

“We are enormously grateful to Pebble Trust for making this grant. We have gained enormously from the resulting project and this has enabled us to take some big leaps in development of both our activities and our longer term plans. We are far better equipped to build a sustainable future and to select longer term premises suitable for our community.”
