What is a ’Pocket Orchard’ ?

Wester Ross Growing Communities Association

Pocket Orchards are just odd corners and small public spaces in and around our villages, planted with fruit trees. An ‘orchard’ may include just one tree or a couple of dozen or more. The orchards mainly comprise apples, plums, cherries and pears but also include nuts, soft fruit, and native species for wind protection, pollination and foraging, such as crab apples, rowans.

The Pebble Trust are pleased to help fund the purchase of trees, rootstock and training.
