The Pebble Trust has a vision for a more sustainable, fair, and low-carbon society, where constraints on fossil fuels lead to a more localised economy with stronger, more resilient communities. Born out of a desire to support climate action, the Trust supports individuals, organisations and projects by providing up to £10,000 for projects across the Highlands and Islands, and sometimes beyond, seeking to address the climate and biodiversity crises and contribute to fairer and more just societies.
As an organisation, we believe that challenges we face require an urgent and holistic approach. We operate a multidisciplinary approach to our project funding and are actively seeking people with experience in these overlapping areas:
* Energy * Food * Forests and land * Transport * Education * Waste * Economy * Marine *
The role of Trustee is interesting and rewarding and you will be able to use your skills to help us make a real difference. We are committed to supporting you in a welcoming and encouraging environment. The Trust is striving to improve the balance of representation on the Board of Trustees and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, all ages and from people with disabilities.
If you have any queries or would like to speak to one of our trustees before applying, please feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Trustees will serve on a voluntary basis and reasonable expenses can be reimbursed. We are looking for people with the ability to allocate a minimum of 7 hours per month and attend approximately 6 meetings per year - a mix of online and in person.
